Heading
I'm Yansong Teng, an interaction designer with a BFA from California College of the Arts and a master's student in Art and Machine Creativity at HKUST. My work spans interaction design, user experience, game UI & game design, and AIGC product experience — always grounded in the motto of endless progress: user research drives design, and prototypes, testing, and critique keep it iterating, balancing beauty, usability, and real impact. My toolkit spans Figma, Blender, p5.js, TouchDesigner, Unity, Arduino, etc., taking ideas from concept research to high-fidelity, cross-disciplinary delivery.
Background
Born in China, educated in California, and now based in Hong Kong, I bring three creative cultures into my practice — moving fluidly between interaction design, game UI, and physical computing.
Artistic Philosophy and Process
User research drives my design: I prototype, test, and critique to iterate, keeping beauty, usability, and real impact in balance. From Figma for UI/UX, Blender and Fusion 360 for 3D, TouchDesigner and Arduino for interactive installations, to Unity for game UI — I work across design, technology, and hardware.
Personal Insight
Living between China, California, and Hong Kong inspires my work. Beyond design, I keep exploring AIGC tools and self-hosted deployment (Ubuntu, Caddy, Tencent Cloud) — because endless progress applies to how I build things, too.
Embarking on a design journey with the spirit of endless progress, I am exploring how continuous innovation can amplify the essence of interaction, utilizing a diverse toolkit to bring these visions to life.
